GBike Gets Updated

No, its not another software! It’s a bike that Google employes use within Google premises. Google has announced that it will provide its employees with a new version of the ‘GBike’. It was in last autumn when Google announced a competition to produce a new bike design that would be easy to produce and easy to maintain, as well as comfortable, secure and affordable. That resulted in submission of about thirty designs. The wining design has been put into production for Googlers.

The winning design was a “beach cruiser” type bike having coaster brakes and hand brakes to maximize security. Chain cover is included to minimize water spray and greasing up. Usability is maximized by adding a basket. Like the previous ones the new bikes wear the same Google colors – red, green and yellow. David Fork, Google’s employ at the a renewable energy division, was one of the the members of the four men team. He said that along with maximizing other facilities, they also wanted to make a bike that would be easy for tall riders.
