Chronic Dev Team has just released Greenpois0n RC5 to apply untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.2.1 to all idevices. Greenspoison rc5 supports these idevices – iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. Unlike Redsn0w 0.9.7, GreenPois0n RC5 doesn’t require you to have SHSH blobs of 4.2b3 saved on Cydia. It’s a mac version and Windows Version will release soon.

GreenPois0n RC5 iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak to Support Verbose Boot and Custom Boot Logo

The upcoming GreenPois0n RC5 will be sporting two new features, one is verbose boot and another is custom boot logos. With verbose boot you can see the boot up process instead of just a pretty logo. A custom boot logo is what shows when you boot up the device (by default, it is a white Apple logo). Similarly, the custom recovery logo is the “Connect to iTunes” graphic that you see in Recovery Mode. At least the latest tweet from pod2g suggests so! Check out the video after the break.

GreenPois0n RC5 Untethered 4.2.1 Jailbreak Supports iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 2G, 3G, 4G

Starting from yesterday Pod2g has discovered a new untethered jailbreak vulnerability for iOS 4.2.1 / 4.3 to Geohot’s untethered exploit using iboot-level and now it appears that GreenPois0n RC5 had also untethered iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch 2G, 3G and 4G. Twitter user @JHackstar tipped us off to a Wiki showing that GreenPois0n RC5 is ‘coming VERY soon’ and will support all devices.

Geohot To Release Untethered Jailbreak In a Few Days

Yesterday Pod2G discovered another untethered exploit for your iDevice, and it even appears GeoHotz has an untethered exploit of his own. MuscleNerd has claimed through a tweet that Geohot might release a new untethered jailbreak in the coming weeks. This new untethered bootrom level exploit can be used to pwn iOS devices like iPhone 5, CDMA iPhone 4 and iPad 2 for life. Possibly, he might release a new jailbreak tool “Rubyra1n“!
