United States Patent and Trademark office finally awarded Apple with design patents related to iPhone 4 and iPod touch 2007 model. Included in the batch are iOS Maps and Compass app design patents, a patent for the iPhone 4’s stainless steel band and another one for reducing wait times in call centers. However, the most interesting patent from the group appears to allow a touch display to act as a space-saving RFID tag reader.
Apple has sued Samsung Electronics for copying “the look and feel” of its iPad tablet and iPhone smartphones. And now Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it would take counter-action against Apple after the US firm filed suit alleging that the South Korean giant copied its smartphones and tablet computers.

Samsung Galaxy S II has appeared for the first time in a TV commercial. The ad doesn’t say anything about the smartphone’s speedy dual-core processor, and neither about Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Instead, it concentrates on the vivid, “too realistic” images that the Galaxy S II’s screen (4.3 inches, WVGA, Super AMOLED Plus) can display.
According to Wall Street Journal Apple has sued Samsung Electronics for copying “the look and feel” of its iPad tablet and iPhone smartphones. The lawsuit claims several of Samsung’s smartphones and tablet — the Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G, Nexus S and the Galaxy Tab — copy Apple’s intellectual property.
Samsung has come up with two eco friendly handsets, Samsung Replenish and Samsung Restore. The handset is a green device, which is claimed 27 percent post-consumer recycled plastics, also 3 percent recyclable of the phone. As mention, Samsung Restore eco-friendly smartphone was announced by Sprint almost a year ago.
Apple has been using Toshiba’s SSDs for MacBook Air. However, the latest update is Apple has switched to a more powerful SSD now; which is from Samsung! According to AnandTech report Apple may have started using faster Samsung SSDs in its new MacBook Airs.
