Apparently Sony is getting frustrated with managing all its business in Japan and is looking to make a clean break. At least that’s what’s being claimed in the Asahi paper this week. Sony will not be moving everything, just the actual production of cell phones and batteries. According to the report, they will be heading for China and/or Singapore.

And it may have to make it even slimmer because that’s what the customers expect in the upcoming iPhone. Sony has just unveiled a CMOS sensor which can be just the perfect candidate if Apple wants to further trim down the thickness in iPhone 5.

Sony Ericsson once was a prominent player in the cell phone industry but like they say, it took an arrow to it’s knee. However, some old relics of the good, old days remain. This one is a phone Sony Ericsson never released. A prototype of this device, which runs on Windows Phone 7, was spotted recently. This is interesting because Ericsson never released a Windows Phone device and has been rather toying with Android. Perhaps Sony Ericsson did have plans of such a device but then trashed them?
