Judge Upholds The Right Of Viewers To Skip Over TV Commercials With AutoHop
TV commercials can become a bit too annoying at times, especially when you are watching something which is much to your interest. Dish Network provides its viewers the option to skip over these commercials through PrimeTime Anytime and AutopHop features. Fox tried to have these two features blocked but a judge ruled against its attempts.
FOX To Offer Movie Download Weeks Before Discs Release
FOX has planed to give a movie download offer for its consumers. The company has chosen Ridley Scott’s science fiction thriller “Prometheus” for this offer. According to FOX’s plan, it will offers high-definition version of Prometheus movie to download at lower price. This download offer is beginning three weeks before the movie available on discs and through the UltraViolet cloud service.
Hulu Plus Coming To Nintendo Systems
Nintendo will update the Nintendo 3DS firmware with 3-D video shooting capability at the end of November and to allowing users to shoot up to 10 minutes at a stretch of stereoscopic video, the feature will support stop-motion animation, so users can create their own Robot Chicken-style animations using a 3DS. Nintendo also would add the Hulu Plus streaming video subscription service to Wii and 3DS. With both Hulu and Netflix in tow, the 3DS is actually turning into quite a powerful little portable and Nintendo has been doubling down on 3D video as of late………………….
Amazon Signs Streaming Deal With FOX
Amazon said its Prime service will now have more than 11,000 movies and TV shows this fall and Amazon inked a content licensing deal with Fox to bolster its streaming content library. Amazon has been aggressively pushing its media partnerships in recent months, signing deals with both CBS and NBC Universal in July to offer video content to Prime subscribers and before announcing it would partner with 11,000 libraries to offer a Kindle lending service and offer magazine subscriptions………………..
Apple Kills 99-Cent iTunes TV Show Rentals From iTunes
Apple has removed the ability to rent TV shows from both iTunes and its Apple TV, taking away what was just last year one of the major advertised selling points of the $99 streaming-centric set-top box, introduced the ability to rent certain episodes of television programs for $0.99 each last September. Apple recently flipped the switch on streaming purchases for its relatively new second generation Apple TV and it appears 99-cent rentals didn’t move the needle, so we’ll wait and see what the folks from Cupertino have up their sleeve next……………
DirecTV Interested In Buying Hulu
DirecTV confirmed Thursday that the satellite TV company was among many potential bidders for online video service Hulu and buying the company from its parents — The Walt Disney Co., News Corp., Comcast Corp. and Providence Equity Partners, could bolster DirecTV’s efforts to allow its customers to watch their video packages on mobile devices. DirecTV wasn’t committed to a deal and said a deciding factor would be the kinds of programming agreements that come with any deal and there is other interested bidders have included Google Inc., Yahoo Inc. and Apple Inc……………
