It is quite interesting to note how late some patents come to fruition. For instance, a patent that Apple had filed as far back as 2004, related to a new user interface for its iTune Store, has now been approved by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The patent speaks of a 'graphical user interface' for Apple's online store.
