Sprint To Limit Mobile Hotspot Data To 5GB
SprintFeed reports that Sprint will be limiting its mobile hotspot plans to 5GB of data as of October 2nd, only days ahead of the rumored iPhone 4S/5 launch and reuters reports that Sprint CEO reveals he will have to change guidance 2011, if the company started selling the Apple’s iPhone. Verizon Preventing Jailbreakers From Unauthorized Tethering
Verizon put its foot down on subscribers using unauthorized tethering apps and now blocking hotspot apps used on jailbroken devices. Verizon began blocking unauthorized hotspot access through jailbroken smartphone apps as early as last Friday and the current limitation only seemingly affects the hotspot aspect, the ability to allow up to five additional devices to connect to Verizon’s network via a smartphone. AT&T and Verizon have both justified their moves by noting that they don’t prevent customers from tethering and Verizon has come under particular scrutiny thanks to a clause in the agreement the company signed when it licensed the 700 MHz C Block it uses to run its LTE network………………
AT&T To Revoke Unlimited Data Plans From Hotspot Jailbreakers
AT&T has been sending out warnings to customers about unauthorized tethering, threatening to revoke unlimited data plans for those in violation and AT&T is adding the tethering plan to the current data plan (including grandfathered unlimited data plan) without their consent.
