Kodak Patents

One of the rather interesting features of the modern technology arena is that even when two companies are fierce rivals, they may join hands when the need be. So seems to be the case for Apple and Google, both of which have now joined hands to put forth a joint bid for the acquisition of Kodak's patents.

Kodak has been in troubled waters since quite some time. The company is trying hard to sell off its patent portfolio for a sizable sum which, if done successfully, can fetch it enough money to avoid bankruptcy. U.S. Bankruptcy Court has now given Kodak an extension till the end of February to get this done.

As if Kodak's woes are not already sufficient to possibly sink it's ship, Apple is gearing up to now weight against the company over allegations of patent infringement. Kodak has already filed for bankruptcy and has abandoned it's 'camera business.' It filed case against the use of a patent technology that it claims Apple and RIM have violated.…
