Pebble Smartwatch has recently broken records on Kickstarter. The crowdfunding campaign for the smartwatch gathered close to 67,000 backers pledging a total of $17 million with more than 18 days to go. The initial goal has been $500,000, so they have exceeded the goal more than 33 times with close to three weeks to spare.

After Google and Apple, Microsoft is bringing out a wearable device—a smartwatch, and is planning to release it in a few weeks. It will contain all basic features that are similar to Apple smartwatch, but will be much cheaper.

The fires have been shot in the smartwatch race but the contestants are still to begin their blitzes. Samsung has led the charge with lackluster offerings but a new smartwatch from Kairos may blow all competition to the wind.

During a talk show, musician Will.i.am revealed that he had made a smartwatch that can make/receive phone calls without being connected to a smartphone. The smartwatch will be launched it in July of this year.
