Albert Einstein’s Full Archive Coming Online

Good news for the fans of Albert Einstein’s. The whole Einstein’s research, calculations, mistakes, thoughts during research, political correspondence, love letters, fan mails will be posted online. This makes Einstein’s followers get one step closer to know Einstein more better. Einstein left his all papers and works to The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Now the university is going to publish this online. However, Hebrew University has already released initial 2,000 documents including unseen letters, postcards and research notes.


“Knowledge is not about hiding. It’s about openness,” said Menachem Ben Sasson, president of the Hebrew University.

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is taking photographs of Einstein’s papers and later they are going to upload them to an online portal. The full paper work of Einstein is 80,000. Previously, the university published 900 pages. Later they added more 6,100 pages means a total of 7,000 pages. As they are inputting Einstein’s papers every now and then, so the site might be found off-line sometime. For convenience, the full collection of 80,000 items will be catalogued and listed online.

Einstein’s letters to fellow scientists about his work, research notes on breakthroughs like the Theory of Relativity everything will be included in this portal. Former university president Hanoch Gutfreund says, “It will present a ‘complete and full picture’ of Einstein.” Personal letters had never been unveiled. For the first time, it is being unveiled through this new portal. The Polonsky Foundation is handling the cost for the digital documents.
