AppleTV Is No Longer Available On BestBuy.com

Apple TV has been steadily vanishing off the shelves of major retailers. We earlier reported that it was no longer available with some main retailers of the device who had responded by saying that they were experiencing a reduced or no supply from Apple. Apparently, same has happened with folks at BestBuy.com who are out of stock on Apple TV and have been so ‘for a while.’

It seems like Apple is finally gearing up to stop the supply of Apply TV to all of it’s retailers. And bring out an all new product in it’s place, a kind of refresh of the current model. But the big question, why would Apple do that and what new features with the new model have?

We may get some hints to this from what we know about iPad 3. iPad 3 is expected to launch with a whooping high display resolution that will support 1080p content. Currently, the set-top box from Apple and the iTunes store, both support just 720p content. So according to analysts, Apple is ramping up efforts on both platforms to make the content more compatible with the upcoming iPad 3. For that, of course, Apple, will have to add support for 1080p content to both iTunes Store and Apple TV. So we can expect Apple to debut the new Apple TV device soon and this device will most probably be supporting 1080p content.

Moreover, we can also expect that Apple transitions from A4 to A6 chips when releasing the next Apple TV model.
