Boeing Creates A New Missile To Shut Down All Electronics In A Given Area

In the highly digital and connected world that we live in, electronics have become an essential part of our lives. Focusing on such dependency, Boeing has now devised a new missile that can effectively shut down all electronics in a given building without harming anyone.

This new missile makes use of special microwave technology. All one needs to do is load it atop a drone, let the drone fly to the zone that has to be targeted and let the missile start sending out its signals which will render all electronics in its path useless.

According to the company, it has already tested this new weapon on a military compound in Utah. The weapon worked perfectly, shutting down all the computers in that compound. The best part is that the drone doesn’t harm any humans, thus it can be made to work discreetly.

Boeing had codenamed this new technology ‘Counter-Electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP).’ The company claims that even if any electronics or computers are located within ultra fortified and secure bunkers, the system can still shut them down.

According to a Boeing spokesperson, “In the near future, this technology may be used to render an enemy’s electronic and data  systems useless even before the first troops or aircraft arrive. We hit every target we wanted and made science fiction into science fact.”

However, many have cited concerns that such a new weapon will inevitably trigger a weapons race anew, with other major players in the world vying to get their hands on a similar technology.
