Google Provides A Sneak Peek Into Its Data Centers

Most of the tech giants rely on huge data centers to store most of their data. Google, being among the leading tech companies, is no exception. In fact, the company is credited with owning some of the largest data centers around U.S. It has now rolled out a number of photos and a video to give a sneak peek of how it’s like inside these data centers. These photos have been added to its Street View data.

Normally, it wouldn’t be very easy to get photos of these data centers. They are highly secure facilities and entrance of any non-authorized personnel is not allowed. The reason for such hyped-up security measures is simple – Google has most of its data in these centers, data that belongs to millions of users. Thus, its natural for the company to be touché about its safety.

The photos that Google has released as part of its Street View data show the insides of data centers. The photos are available on Google’s new page “Where Our Internet Lives” and shows off data centers with low light conditions, controlled temperatures to ward off the heat produced by the servers and huge spaces.

The servers easily number in thousands in each of these data centers. Some of these structures are so huge that it’s hard to spot the other end of the structure.

The company has its data centers scattered all around the globe. The photos are from Google’s data centers in Belgium, Finland and Iowa. A video tour of Google’s data center in Lenoir has also been released. You can watch it below.
