Apple Closes Retail Stores In New York

New York City is evacuating 250,000 low-lying coastal areas and closing its subway system over the weekend, prompting Apple to shutdown at least four of its retail stores as well and Apple has closed their Fifth Avenue, West 14th Street, West Upper Side and SoHo stores. The transit shutdown would have a major impact on Apple Store employees’ commute and impede customers’ ability to get around in the dense………………

 

At least nine Apple Stores will close their doors this weekend as citizens across the East coast of the United States brace for Hurricane Iren and two million residents across at least five states have been ordered to evacuate their homes ahead of the Category 2 storm that is expected to hit Sunday. NYC‘s mass transit system is shutting down by noon on Saturday, which will make it extremely difficult for both employees and customers to get to the stores and employees who answered the phone at SoHo, Upper West Side, West 14th Street and also Staten Island confirmed that those stores will be closed all day on Saturday and Sunday. “Don’t wait. Don’t delay,” said President Barack Obama, who cut his vacation short to return to Washington. “I cannot stress this highly enough: If you are in the projected path of this hurricane, you have to take precautions now.” New York City has ordered an evacuation of 250,000 citizens and will completely shut down their transportation system, the first time it has done so for weather. The Fifth Avenue location, which is famously open 24/7/365 will be closed same days with other locations and as for stores outside the city:
