Apple May Update iCloud With A New Photo-Sharing Feature

With Apple’s WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 drawing closer by each passing day, the rumors and speculations surrounding the event are running high. A lot is expected from the event, including the unveiling of iOS 6 and other features from Apple. Now, Wall Street Journal has claimed that Apple may update iCloud with a new photo-sharing feature, something which will be announced at the event.

According to Wall Street Journal, Apple will be launching a significant upgrade of iCloud, adding a number of new features to its cloud storage service. One of the most prominent of these features would be to enable the users to share photos with other iCloud users. The other users with whom the photos are shared through iCloud will also be able to comment on these photos.

Although users can upload their photos to iCloud even now through the Photo Stream feature, they are unable to share these photos with other iCloud users. These photos are just synced so as to be accessed from multiple Apple devices.

Online photo-sharing is already a wildly popular phenomenon, something which shot the likes of Instagram to fame and success. Facebook currently dominates the arena with most photos shared by user base numbering in more than 900 million. Moreover, like we reported earlier, Apple may also be making the ‘Notes’ and ‘Reminders’ features as apps available through iCloud. All this may be a part of iOS 6 which Apple is near confirmed to be unveiling at WWDC 2012.
