Eddy Cue Accepts Grammy Award On Behalf Of Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs has been hailed to be someone who truly revolutionize not only the world of technology, but also the music industry, with his extra-ordinary ideas. He was the one who developed the notion of digitalized music sold through online stores, an idea which came to be at the base of modern music industry. In honor for all these achievement, he had been nominated for the Trustees Award at Grammy Awards this year.


Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president for Internet software and services, accepted the award on Steve Jobs’ behalf. Eddy spoke at length about Jobs’ love for music and the way his love made him do wonders for the music industry.

At the acceptance of the award, Eddy said, “On behalf of Steve’s wife, Laurene, his children, and everyone at Apple, I’d like to thank you for honoring Steve with the Trustees Grammy Award. Steve was a visionary, a mentor, and a very close friend. I had the incredible honor of working with him for the last fifteen years.”

Eddy said that music was a huge influence in Steve Jobs’ life. And that Jobs had often cited how music from the likes of Bob Dylan and The Beatles had influenced his life. According to Eddy, Jobs was often inquired by people when Apple was developing iPod as to why Apple was concentrating on a music player. To this Jobs replied that he and other people at Apple loved music and that it’s always good to work on something one loves.
