During the year 2012, Pandora users listened over 1 million different songs by over 100,000 different artists. Out of those 100,000 different artists, 10,000 artists had more than 250,000 unique listeners. Pandora users listened a total of 13 billion hours of music round the year. Pandora listeners created 1.6 billion stations throughout the year 2012.

Pandora CEO Tim Westergren said in a blog post, “When we created the Music Genome Project thirteen years ago, we had a dual purpose: connect people with music they love and help talented artists find their audiences. We knew if we could get the first part right, the second would naturally follow. Well, it looks like that second part is actually beginning to happen. The Pandora audience is large enough now to begin making a real difference in the lives of thousands of working artists.”

No doubt, Pandora’s such popularity and growth became possible for the service’s integration into other devices specially in most of the mobile devices as well as services too that allowed listeners to connect with their favorite music almost anywhere. 125 million users of Pandora listened to the online radio service by using smartphone or tablet.
