Sony Ericsson Changes Name To Just ‘Sony’

We have been listening for a while that Sony Ericsson will cease to exist with the very name and may be back to being just ‘Sony.’ As it is, this has started to happen now. Emails are being sent out to the customers of Sony Ericsson devices that the name of their product’s company has been changed. This surely may have panicked the customers regarding the warranty of their devices, so the email also states that the warranty of their devices is intact and unaffected despite the name change.

This has been confirmed by Sony Ericsson’s Chief Marketing Officer Steve Walker that a name change does not, in any way, affect the warranty of the devices by the company and that the warranty will simply stop being from SE and will now rather be from Sony.

This may also mean that Sony may have to directly jump the bandwagon of smartphone devices yet again. So we can expect some big news on the smartphone front by the company. According to Walker, “you can expect even more leading-edge Sony capabilities – and easy connectivity with other Sony products including TVs, PCs and tablets to allow you to share content seamlessly across multiple screens.” If indeed such devices are released by the company, they would be worth a try.
