Japanese Levitating House System Designed To Protect Homes From Earthquake

Japan is such a country, where Earthquake is the most common thing which visits every now and then without any permission. It comes and destroys almost everything. Someone or something should teach the earthquake about some manner. May be, that someone or something is here. Now, Japanese researchers have developed an airbag like system. During natural disasters, this system keeps the home floating. In other word, while earthquake will be happening, everything might be destroyed except your home because it will be flying. Poor Earthquake!

The Japanese have been trying to invent something since long that can provide an earthquake signal and protect the houses and shops from destroying. No doubt, home levitation system is awesome in order to protect homes from destroying. It is strong enough to lift your home off while the ground will be shaking. Therefore the house structure remains safe and sound.

Home levitation system comes with a sensor. When natural disaster like earthquake strikes, the sensor recognizes the ground’s instability and turns on the compressor within 0.5-1 second and releases enough air to force the home to rise. Probability of having the safe building’s structure depends on how long distance the home goes off the ground during earthquake. At the time of earthquake, the home automatically turns into levitation mode. There is an indoor value that controls everything in balanced when the home floats. The home can be lifted up to 3 cm (approximately 1.2 inches) to decrease the impact of the shaking grounds. As soon as the earthquake is over, the compressor automatically turns off and the home gently returns to its original place.

The blueprint of this home levitation system is created by Air Danshin System Inc. This airbag-type system costs 1/3 comparing to other earthquake-proofing systems. It is very effective and it needs little maintenance. Currently, the system has already been installed in 88 homes across Japan. But, the company hopes to continue installing this system to potential more dangerous and larger buildings like downtown offices and high-rise apartments.

Like the UK’s First Floating House, this innovative system will keep us safe from natural disasters. Hope so, this system will not only save home, but also save many human lives during earthquake. Two people wanted to check out how the Air Danshin levitating system looks like in action. Watch the video below.
