Matterport Enables Users To Scan Physical World And Create 3D Models

Silicon Valley startups keep spinning out the most innovative and latest of technologies and they never fail in surprising us. Now, Matt Bell with the two co-founders of the company, Dave Gausebeck and Mike Beebe, is currently working on a user-friendly system that can make creation of complex 3D models a really easy task. Watch the video posted below to see how it may work.

The technology can turn out to be a game-changer. It works by taking snapshots of a 3D locality, for instance the insides of a room. It takes the shots piece-meal so that eventually, it stitches them all up using Matterport’s software and then creates a 3D image out of it.

According to the CEO of Matterport, Matt Bell, this can have huge application use for organizations as well as individuals such as constructions firms, architects etc.

The description, as furnished on the official website of Matterport states, ‘Matterport is creating a revolutionary 3D reconstruction system that allows anyone to create 3D models of physical objects and interior spaces quickly, easily, and automatically. We are currently working with a limited number of beta partners in various industries.’

Currently, the team comprises of four personnel, as stated on the official website. The company has a hardware scanner of its own which has been specialized to scan 3D localities.
