Rubbee Turns Any Bicycle Into An Electric Bike Without Any Hassle

Now a days, vehicles like cars and bi-cycles are becoming electric. So if you wish to turn your bicycle into an electric one and enjoy the ride, is it that much difficult to convert? Not really. Rubbee, a small but powerful team has made an an attachable engine called Rubbee that pedals your bike for you.

Rubbee

Electric-bike conversion kits aren’t hard to find in the market. But Rubbee is definitely different from those. Rubbee is a high-efficiency electric friction drive for bicycles. It weighs 14 pounds. The machine hooks on to the back of the bicycle’s seat and one end rests on the back wheel. An electric-powered wheel on the Rubbee spins against the bike wheel, creating friction and spinning the bike wheel. Rubbee can get the bike moving at up to 15 mph for up to 15 miles. It takes about two hours to recharged. Here’s a video for you.

If by any chance, you want to get your old general bike, that’s easy – just remove it. However, here are the specs of Rubbee at a glance:

  • Range (without pedaling): 25 km (15 mi)
  • Top speed: 25 km/h (15 mph)
  • Weight: 6.5 kg (14 lbs)
  • Peak power: 800 W
  • Integrated battery pack: 20000 mAh
  • Full recharge time: 2 hours

The Rubbee is trying to collect funds of £63,000 by Friday Aug 16, 1:58 pm EDT through popular crowdfunding source Kickstarter. Till now (as of writing) the team has collected £34,904. For more details, head over to Kickstarter.
