A lot of analysts had thought that with the launch of the new iPad and the fact that iPhone 4S has been here for a long time now, the craze for this Siri-equipped smartphone would get low. That, however, doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon. According to a report by Canaccord Genuity analyst Mike Walkley, Apple’s iPhone 4S still takes the crown for being the best selling smartphone in US as last as March this year.
Mike’s report covered a number of wireless carriers in the US. These includes AT & T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-mobile. Of these four, the only carrier that does not offer Apple’s iPhone 4S is T-mobile.
From the results gathered by Mike’s team, Apple’s iPhone 4S has been the most-selling smartphone with AT &T, Verizon and Sprint. This means all the carriers who are carrying the smartphone are pretty happy and lucky to have it, given its sheer demand. In his report, Mike wrote, ‘During March, our checks indicated the iPhone 4S remained the top smartphone in the U.S. market and Samsung gained share as smartphone penetration grows in U.S. prepaid channels.’
Samsung’s Galaxy S II has specifically been gaining traction and has attracted a lot of users. It is the second best-selling smartphone with AT&T and Sprint and the most best-selling smartphone with T-Mobile. Samsung definitely seems to be improving on its market share in smartphone sales with the help of Samsung S II. Apple’s iPhone 4 is still a part of top three best selling smartphones with AT&T and Sprint.
