LG is going to launch its first smartphone designed to run Firefox OS named LG Fireweb. Like ZTE and Huawei handsets, LG is also designing lower-end handset meant for those who are looking for an entry-level device.
The Fireweb features 4-inch 480 x 320 resolution equipped HVGA TFT touchscreen which has been designed for newcomers, 3G Qualcomm processor with 1GHz and 2GB memory and 4GB of expandable storage. It also packs a 5-megapixel rear camera along with both auto focusing and an LED flash.
The Firefox OS will come with web browser, calendar and a few more apps like Firefox Marketplace for downloading apps, including eBay, Wikipedia, The Weather Channel, Fox Sports, Facebook and Kayak etc.
Firefox OS is expanding its market now including Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay. Currently, Vivo Brazil is selling the Fireweb for $449 BRL ($207 US) for customers, or $129 BRL for ($59 US) regular subscribers.
