Two Percent Americans Believe Everything Online Is True

Internet is indeed a blessing in a whole lot of ways. It has helped virtually the whole world connect like a truly global village. However, there are side effects to this. For instance, with such hoards of information online, sometimes it becomes terribly difficult to sift through it all and find the truth. And apparently, there are such people who believe everything on the web to be true.

The good news is that such people are not in huge numbers. A recent survey reveals that two percent of Americans trust everything they read on the web. The research which reveals this has been commissioned by Mancx.

The research by the company included some 2,000 Americans. While two percent of these are definitely the most naive web audience, others seem to have a far better idea of the internet and are web-educated. For instance, 56 percent of those surveyed are skeptical that the information they find outline is often outdated whereas another 59 percent tend to think that too many ads present certain biases.

Another 53 percent think that despite getting the exact content they are looking for, they are presented by content that is promoted by certain parties. In all, Mancx concludes that some 98 percent of Americans do not trust the information they receive on the web.

The interesting thing is that this 2 percent which believes everything they read on the internet are probably the people who fall for popular scams and other frauds online. Naturally, if they believe an email claiming to hand them millions of dollars, they are going to fall for it.
