Europeans Lead The Path To iOS 6 Adoption, Study Reveals

Ever since Apple released the iOS 6 update, it has been taken up and adopted by iOS users bit too rapidly. We have seen fast adoption rates for newer iOS releases in the past but the adoption rate for iOS 6 seems to be beating them all. According to Chitika, the overall adoption rate of iOS 6 has already reached near 60%, merely three weeks after its launch.

Chartboost iOS 6 adoption

According to the statistics revealed by Chitika, a total of 68 percent iPhone users, 51 percent iPad users and 42 percent iPod users have already moved to iOS 6, pegging the overall adoption rate of the new release at 58.88 percent.

In an alternate study by Chartboost, the numbers are somewhat different. According to Chartboost’s figures, the overall iOS 6 adoption hasn’t surpassed 50% yet. In comparison to Chitika, Chartboost comes up with rather modest statistics regarding the weekly iOS 6 adoption rates.

What is interesting about Chartboost’s study is that it also reveals the region-wise adoption of the new iOS release. For instance, it states that currently, Italy sits on top of the adoption list with 65 percent iOS users in the country having upgraded to iOS 6.

It is closely followed by Germany where 62.3 percent users have made the leap. Next on the list is Netherlands at 60.6 percent adoption rate and then UK at 57.6 percent.

Surprisingly, whereas Apple is based in U.S. and probably enjoys one of the largest user bases and influence in the country, U.S. is still nowhere among the top 5 nations with the highest iOS 6 adoption rates. Rather, the crown has been bagged by the European nations.
