‘Angry Birds Toons’ Cartoon Series Coming On March 16

Game maker Rovio’s Angry Birds series has been one of the most popular mobile game franchise of all time. Lately, the game maker has announced that it will launch its long-awaited animated television series based on the gaming phenomenon, Angry Birds Toons. It is going to be on air from March 16.

Angry BirdsToons

Angry Birds Toons will be shown every week and will feature the adventures of the egg-stealing pigs and the angry birds. To be more specific, viewers will be able to watch what is happening “deep in the heart of Piggy Island” and find out whether those merciless piggies ever get hold of the birds’ eggs. Watchers will get answers to many questions such as:

  • What makes Bomb Birds so angry?
  • Why is the King Pig the King pig?
  • Are those mischievous piggies ever going to get hold of the eggs?

A statement published in Rovio’s blog says, “Angry Birds Toons is an all-new animated series that throws the doors to Piggy Island wide open. For the first time ever, you can get up close and personal with your favourite characters.”

Angry Birds fans can watch the series on Rovio’s website. The show has been licensed to a broadcaster in Ukraine, who will give “Angry Birds Toons” its on-air debut next month. It’s unclear what devices, apps, and sites will eventually air “Angry Birds Toons.” But it’s been said that there will be 52 episodes that will each last about three minutes and be available on a variety of devices.

On the other side, Rovio is also currently working on an Angry Birds feature film, which is set to debut in the middle of 2016 and will be directed by John Cohen. Check out the Angry Birds Toons teaser video below.
