AMD is going to introduce its next generation GPUs in 2013. It will start its journey through AMD Radeon 8000 series. The code name for this Radeon HD series is Sea Islands. It would obviously be better than the current Radeon HD 7000 series. Some fantastic new features will be included in Radeon HD 8000 series boosting performance up to 40%, compared to present generation.
In gaming industry, the name of AMD holds a great position in gamers’ minds. The chip maker, which acquired graphics chip vendor ATI in 2006, has continued ATI’s legacy. Its AMD Radeon HD series is considered as one of the best GPU series in the gaming industry (which includes AMD Radeon HD 6450, AMD Radeon HD 6770, and AMD Radeon HD 7950 etc). In this process, AMD is lining up Radeon HD 8000 series, code-named Sea Islands, for the market; to be launched in 2013.
Radeon HD 8000 series will use 3 types of GPUs- Venus( high-end), Oland( performance based) and Mars (mainstream) . Latest beta driver also revealed 4 Kaveri and 5 Kabini device ID solutions for the upcoming GPUs which will be incorporated into Radeon HD 8000 series.
