Kingston Made World’s Largest Flash Drive. It’s 1TB!

Every year a lot of new technologies and amazing devices are unveiled. This year will be no different. Fountain Valley, Calif.-based Kingston Technology has made the “world’s largest flash drive.” The flash drive is called DataTraveler HyperX Predator. Any guesses what could be the size? It’s 1 Terabyte (1,024 gigabytes).


Kingston' 1TB Flash Drive

This thumb size (roughly 3 inches long) 1 TB DataTraveler HyperX Predator flash drive measures 2.83″ x 1.06″ x 0.83″. This USB 3.0 device can read data at 240MB/s and write at 160MB/s, while the USB 2.0 device can read data at 30MB/s and write at 30MB/s; hence, very large files can be copied or transferred at super fast speed. It will be showcased at CES 2013.

At the CES 2013, Kingston will also unveil 32GB, 64GB and 512GB DataTraveler HyperX Predator flash drives. Both 512 GB and 1 TB USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 flash drive will be compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7 (SP1), Windows Vista (SP1, SP2), Windows XP (SP3), Mac OS X v. 10.6.x and Linux v 2.6.x.

It is expected that 1TB DataTraveler HyperX Predator flash drive will be released for customers in the first quarter of 2013.
