New iMac Suggested To Have Slimmer Design, Logic Board Photo Appears

Apple just finished releasing its new lineup of iPods and iPhones, but recent rumors suggest they aren’t quite done this fall season. A few leaked photos present the 2012 iMac’s purported internal logic board. The leaked report also suggests that the new iMac lineup will be slimmer and lighter.

A post on popular Chinese Apple-based forum WeiPhone suggests that our upcoming iMac will feature a much slimmer and lighter form factor — also holding an announcement alongside the iPad Mini on October 23rd. The poster notes a formal release for the iMac will occur in October or November.

Even more fascinating, we gained some photographs of what’s said to be an iMac 2012 logic board. As with any Apple leaks, authenticity of these parts cannot be disclosed until after the iMac is actually released. This specific hardware carries unique factors of prior iMac logic boards, therefor it may be authentic.

While on the topic of Macs — the source also said that the 13″ Retina display Macbook Pro has already hit the mass production stage. Oddly enough, this Macbook Pro is labeled D1 and production is held in Mexico.
