Apple has been working on the new version of iTunes, iTunes 11, for quite some time. It was scheduled to be released some time in October but Apple has now announced that the release has been postponed until the end of November.

iTunes 11

iTunes 11 is a major upgrade because this new version will be packing a number of new features. The design of the software has undergone a number of changes, taking a lesson from the looks of iOS. Apple’s focus in redesigning the software is to ensure ease of use as well as access.

A spokesperson for the company recently stated, “The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.”

iTunes is probably one of the most important parts of the Apple experience. Be that Mac users or iOS users, the software is a very significant part of using Apple machines and most Apple users rely on iTunes for keeping track of all their data.

However, the availability of Apples iCloud has also significantly reduced the usage of iTunes, especially among iOS users. iPhone, iPad and iPod users can play their music straight from the music without having to rely on iTunes. With iTunes 11, Apple may be hoping to revive the user’s interest with a number of new features it is packing in the software. We will have to wait till the end of this month to see exactly what kind of interest it triggers among Apple users.
