Apple reportedly has a minor update to its iOS 6 mobile operating-system ready for public release. This enhancement is labeled iOS 6.0.1 according to Boy Genius Report’s “reliable Apple sources.” Testing is currently in full effect with three major U.S. carriers — AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon.
Apple’s iOS 6.0.1 update will fix plenty of bugs its users experienced in iOS 6. A few bug fixes include a keyboard line distortion glitch and camera flash remaining on after a photo was snapped.
The company also is said to improve Wi-Fi support, fix cellular data issues, “add a consolidated cellular data switch for iTunes Match, fix a bug that allowed access to Passbook pass details from the lock screen, and also finally fix the bug that caused Exchange meetings to be unexpectedly cancelled for the entire calendar invite group.”
iOS 6 was first introduced to the public on September 19th — whereas previous versions of iOS 6 were in ‘beta’ for developers-only. iOS 6 brought many new functions to the table, such as extended Facebook support, notification center improvements, and a new Maps application.
iOS 6.0.1 is expected to hit update portals sometime during this, or next week. We learned furthermore that Apple may also be working on iOS 6.1 for a release after the holidays.
