Swedish rugged mobile computers manufacturer Handheld Group has introduced Nautiz X1 ultra-rugged smartphone. The Nautiz X1 is not only waterproof but also dust-proof and shock-resistant. The company claims it to be the toughest smartphone in the world.
The Nautiz X1 has 1 GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch WVGA sunlight-readable and damage-resistant capacitive touchscreen, 512 MB RAM with 2 GB of onboard storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 5-megapixel camera. This ultra rugged smartphone can be used with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system. The Nautiz X1 weighs 180 grams (6.3 ounces) with dimensions of 125 mm × 65 mm × 15 mm (4.9″×2.6″×0.6″).
This ultra rugged smartphone will be available in January 2013 for $899 (€699).
