CST Unveils Prototype Of ‘World’s Thinnest’ Wrist Watch “CST-01” At CES 2013

Central Standard Timing (CST) wants to build the ‘world’s thinnest’ wrist watch. So, CST has partnered with Electrophoretic Ink Corporation (well-known as E-ink) to create the ‘world’s thinnest’ wrist watch named CST-01 and determined to deliver it to users this year. A prototype of this world’s thinnest wrist watch has been shown at CES 2013.

The CST-01 weighs just 12 gram and its thickness is 0.80 millimeter. It has a single, razor-thin cuff and two different time displays – 12 and 24 hour formats. This world’s thinnest wrist watch is created by laminating flexible components together into a single piece of flexible stainless steel. The watch will use an embedded micro-energy cell that will allow it to charge in 10 minutes from an external dock. The wrist watch will last for 15 years.

Pre-order of this watch is running right now for $129 each. First 500 backers will be able to own it for $99 (if available). Already 584 backers (as of writing) have pledged more than $69,000. The device is expected to ship in the second quarter of this year.
