Amazon Instant-Streaming Video App Comes To Sony PS3

Sony’s game console, PS3 already has a long list of streaming apps to its suite of video-streaming services. While that may suffice for many users, now Amazon Instant App has also been added to the suite, letting PS3 users stream purchased as well as rented content to be viewed on the console. The user interface for the app for PS3 is also quite cool.

PS3 already has a number of video-streaming services available on the console, which include Netflix, CinemaNow, Hulu Plus, MLB.TV, Vudu, Sunday Ticket, XOS College Sports, SEC College Sports and Sony Video Unlimited. Now, Amazon Instant App has also joined the ranks with these services. The great thing about the Amazon Instant App is that for such PS3 users who also happen to be Amazon Prime subscribers, they can stream free Prime TV shows and movies.

However, nothing can be said as to how successful the app will be on the PS3 platform. This is because the precise services offered by Amazon are already offered by a number of priorly-available streaming services on the console. However, Amazon users may certainly be enticed to make the Amazon Instant App their first choice.

The user interface of the app is great and though it bears some resemblance to the Xbox 360 version of the app, it is still a lot better than Amazon interfaces on a number of other devices.
