Diablo 3 Will Come With Intercontinental Multiplayer Feature

A lot of anticipation and suspense has been surrounding the upcoming launch of the next release of the popular franchise ‘Diablo 3.’ The developer of the game, Blizzard, has now announced an all-new feature which will a part of Diablo 3. The feature is being intercontinental multiplayer option.

This exciting feature will enable the players to team up with other players from other, farther parts of the world. According to Blizzard, the character and items that will be a part of Diablo 3 will essentially be bound to one of three server regions.

The three server regions that have been defined are as follows: the first region includes the Americas, which essentially translates to U.S., Latin America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand as well as Southeast Asia; the second region includes the Europe, Africa and Middle East; finally, the third server region include Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Macau.

The restriction during the game play is that users won’t be able to move around their characters from one region to other – characters are essentially region-bound. However, what the users can do is make use of ‘Global Play’ which will enable them to create newer characters in other regions. This way, the players in one regions will be able to engage with players in another region. However, in doing so, they will be barred from bidding in Auction House because bidding in Auction House is also region-bound.

The much-touted real-money Auction House will be launched about a week after Diablo 3’s launch, Blizzard revealed. However, a somewhat disappointing bit of information is that Blizzard will be nicking off a dollar off every item being sold as well as a 15 percent fee to move the earned money to a third-party account. This would definitely turn into a substantial revenue stream for Blizzard once the Auction House launches.
