Rovio Announces New Game Called Amazing Alex

Rovio is the company that shot to fame, popularity and immense success with its flagship franchise, Angry Birds. Having broken a whole lot of records in the gaming industry with one single game, the company has new plans which it intends to pursue. The CEO of the company, Mikeal Hed, has now announced that the company will be releasing another game soon.

The game, Hed told in his interview, is titled ‘Amazing Alex’ and will be released in two months. He further said that this new game will be based on the Rude Goldberg-like game, Casey Contraption IP, which is already quite a hit and has been acquired by Rovio.

Primarily, the game is meant to contain educational elements. But this does not mean at all that the game may be boring. We have recently seen some excellent and very fun educational games. In this particular game, ‘Alex’ is going to be the central character who happens to be a curious boy and is always interested in building something – therein lies the aspect of ‘education.’

Naturally, given Rovio’s Angry Birds, we would expect something extra-ordinary from the company. And Hed seems cognizant of this when he says, “The quality pressure is high. We want to maintain the high standard Angry Birds fans have come to enjoy.”

Rovio also seems to be concentrating on what is its forte – physics-based games where you have to accomplish things while taking care of actual physical laws. Over Rovio’s recent acquisition of rights to Casey’s Contraptions IP, Hed says, “The gameplay is a perfect fit in our arsenal with its approachable, fun and highly addictive take on the physics puzzler genre. We are currently reworking the title to enhance it, and getting ready to re-introduce it in a true ‘expect the unexpected’ Rovio style launch to an even larger audience.”
