Direct Links: Download iOS 5 Beta 2

iOS 5 beta 2 is now available for download from Apple’s developer site and if you are a paid ($99/year) dev, you can sign in with your developer credentials to gain access to this beta. Apple has also pushed out new iTunes 10.5 Beta 2 for developers and iOS 5 beta 2 requires iTunes 10.5 beta 2 and OS X 10.6.8 or Lion. Apple has enabled wireless syncing in iOS 5 beta 2 and wireless syncing is triggered automatically when the device is connected to power and on the same network as the paired computer…………

Apple has just released iOS 5 beta 2 which is now available for download and you can download this beta for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad2, iPad, iPod Touch 4G, 3G and Apple TV 2G from the iOS Dev Center if you’re a registered developer. In order to take advantage of the new WiFi syncing, developers will also need to download and install a new beta release of iTunes with 10.5 beta 2 having been made available by Apple alongside the iOS betas. Once both are installed and WiFi Syncing is turned on inside iTunes, the iTunes Sync area of iOS 5′s Settings app will allow syncing to be initiated over a WiFi connection, beta 1 required a wired connection in order for a sync to begin. WiFi syncing is one of the many features Apple brought to iPhones, iPads and iPod touches when it announced iOS 5 at WWDC earlier this month. Plugging a hole that has been there for some time, WiFi syncing has been high on everyone’s wish lists with Apple seemingly oblivious.  iOS 5 comes in 9 flavors with one for each iOS platform available for download. Weighing in at around 700MB apiece and the current beta build is number 9A5248d. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV are all covered by this update. Developers wishing to use the new syncing feature will also need to have either installed the latest OS X Snow Leopard updated (10.6.8) or be using one of the developer previews of OS X Lion.

About Exact Changes by ifans :

  • You can now backup to iCloud or the computer when setting the device up

What’s New :

  • Accounts:
FIXED: When deleting a MobileMe account, an incorrect message is displayed on the device that says “This will delete all Photo Stream Photos from your device”. You can ignore this message.
  • Address Book:
FIXED: Adding a CardDAV account of any kind (Yahoo, Address Book Server, etc) and then removing the account will result in the loss of the UI button to add a new contact. The button will not appear under Contacts App or the Contacts button under the Phone app.
FIXED: Modifying the fields of an iCloud contact from an iOS device thatwas not the original source of the contact causes the contact’s photo to disappear on other iOS devices. The image is still there but it is not fetched properly.
  • Bluetooth:
FIXED: When connected to Personal Hot Spot via Bluetooth, the internet connection for web browsing is not successful.
  • CalDav:
FIXED: Despite turning off reminder sync with an iCloud account, editing in the reminders app displays the option to make a new reminder list under iCloud. By doing so, the list and to do items under the list will sync to other devices.
  • Calendar:
FIXED: When making a change to calendar syncing, like having more than one account on the device and turning on or off one of the account’s calendar syncing, changes may not show up on the calendar UI. To resolve this, kill the calendar app through app switcher and launch it again.
  • Game Kit:
FIXED: In games that support “Turn-Based Matches” a player cannot end a match unless all players end the match.
FIXED: Attempting to present a GKPeerPickerController object causes an iPhone 4 to dim and become ‘modal’, but the peer picker never appears.
  • iBooks:
iBooks 1.2.2 may fail to display some text or images in books. Please update to iBooks 1.3 in the App Store.
FIXED: Newer PDFs added to iBooks will not be added to subsequent backups.
  • iMessage:
FIXED: Swiping the iMessage on/off switch and the MMS messaging on/off switch in Settings crashes it. Just tapping or toggling does not crash settings.
FIXED: In an iMessage conversation, video/audio attachments cannot be viewed in the transcript on either side of the conversation.
