iPhone 5 Will Come With Larger Display And A New Dock Connector, Rumors Say

A lot of amazing iPhone concepts have been doing their rounds on the web. While not all of these are practically possible, some have been developed considering the constraints of Apple. While these concepts don’t pretend to be true, now a number of rumors have surfaced claiming as to how exactly iPhone 5 will be like.

These rumors have first been stated by iLounge which claims that these have been revealed by its own sources. The sources seem to confirm that iPhone 5 will be featuring a 4-inch screen, a new dock connector and a metal back.

While we are definitely sceptical of these rumors, it remains a very likely move that Apple may be increasing the display size of its flagship smartphone. According to iLounge, ‘The new iPhone will indeed be longer and thinner than the iPhone 4 and 4S.’

The website further states, ‘What we’ve learned: the new iPhone will indeed be longer and thinner than the iPhone 4 and 4S. Approximate measurements are 125mm by 58.5mm by 7.4mm—a 10mm jump in height, nearly 2mm reduction in thickness, and virtually identical width.’

iLounge also claims that Apple will be continuing the use of Gorilla Glass 2 in the new iPhone too. The second generation of Gorilla Glass is much thinner and yet, stronger than the first generation. Finally, another notable claim made by iLounge is that iPhone 5 will be coming with a new dock connector. This has already been reported but so far, there hasn’t been any credible word about it. According to the ‘inside scoop’, the new dock connector will have fewer pins.
