After a lot of anticipation, the iPhone 5 untethered jailbreak is finally here! We announced a few days ago that a team called ‘evad3rs’ was readying the untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 6.x devices. The team had promised to deliver the tool on February 4th and they’ve lived up to those promises. Download the jailbreak tool called ‘evasi0n’ below.
Evasi0n is available for Linux, Mac OS X as well as for Windows machine. The untethered jailbreak will be compatible with not only iPhone 5 but other iPhone, iPad, iPad mini and iPod touch models which are currently running iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1.
Before you begin to accomplish untethered jailbreak on your iOS device using ‘evasi0n’, a few regular words of caution: do not forget to create a backup of your device using iTunes. This way, if something goes wrong with the jailbreak, you can always restore your data. Also make sure to disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before you initiate the jailbreak.
Finally, while the untethered jailbreak is being accomplished, leave your computer alone for some time. This should be done to avoid any unintended interference with evasi0n.
