Rumor: iPhone 5 Will Be More Thinner But Wider

The next-generation iPhone will offer a somewhat longer and wider form factor than the iPhone 4. The cases eiterate other apparent changes such as the mute switch being moved to the opposite edge of the device and the form factor including a very slight teardrop design and also rounded edges. Now similar cases have reportedly started to show up all over China with many already available for order and the fact that tons of case makers are sporting the same design makes it pretty likely that something similar will be what we see come iPhone 5 time…………….

More iPhone 5 silicone cases have leaked and with the next-gen iPhone rumored for a September launch, third-party accessories manufacturers are getting antsy, readying the accessories ahead of time based on insider information. These latest images emerged after some prototype renderings and photos of cases surfaced purported to be for the iPhone 5.In addition, the bottom of these cases have holes for a separate speaker, main microphone, and USB dock connector. The case goes thick to thin from top to bottom and the case is 5 inches tall and 2.8 inches wide. These are tight cases so the iPhone 5 dimensions should only be a few millimeters smaller than those numbers. For comparison, the iPhone 4 is 4.5 inches tall and 2.31 inches wide. This likely will leave room for the rumored bigger screen and 9to5mac is not able to absolutely confirm that these cases will fit the fifth-generation iPhone, the sources of these cases stress that the information used for design and manufacturing came from their own proven industry sources like the ones that provided amazingly accurate iPad 2 information and dimensions to case manufactures months before the product’s March debut. These cases are also just appearing weeks ahead of the iPhone 5′s debut. With the iPhone 5 most certainly in production, it is prime time for insider leaks to occur in Asia. Chinese case makers have begun distributing cases allegedly for Apple’s next-generation iPhone with one report calling the cases everywhere in China and one vendor is selling the silicon cases on Chinese trade site Alibaba.com for 2CNY ($0.31) each with a minimum order of 500 pieces. The cases feature curved sides and locate the vibrate switch on the opposite side of last year’s iPhone 4 design.
