A leaked memo from Sprint advising employees to simply state no comment when asked about the iPhone has added fuel to the fire on rumors that the carrier will begin offering Apple’s next-generation iPhone this fall and the Sprint dealers are also advised to refer customers to the Sprint.com Newsroom. This doesn’t confirm that a Sprint iPhone handset is coming and it does lead us to believe that Sprint might have something up its sleeve, something that it wants to keep secret………….

It looks like Sprint is getting flooded with queries about Apple’s iPhone as SprintFeed now reports that Sprint has sent an internal memo to its employees telling them: “Do not Speculate about Sprint Getting the iPhone.” SprintFeed reports:

We’ve received an internal memo providing employees with details on how to address customer questions about Sprint getting the iPhone. The memo advises employees not to speculate about Sprint getting the iPhone and even suggests the classic “no comment” response to external questioning.

The memo titled Action Required: Do not Speculate about Sprint Getting the iPhone reads as follows:

“A recent Wall Street Journal article mentioned that Sprint is getting the iPhone 5. If you’re asked by a customer or just talking to friends or family members, you need to avoid making any comment about the iPhone and simple [sic] state “no comment.”

The memo also directs employees who are asked a direct question by a customer about Sprint getting iPhone with the following response:

“Yes, I saw a few of those reports, I don’t have any information to share.”

The memo does not provide any evidence of Sprint getting the iPhone, but the no comment internal memo is being considered by some as a positive indication that Sprint is finally getting the iPhone.  Based on the response from our readers to the report that iPhone 5 is coming to Sprint and the fact that Sprint actually had to send an internal memo indicates that there is a lot of interest for the iPhone on Sprint’s network. Application usage logs have revealed that Apple is testing a dual-mode iPhone 5 running iOS 5, so it remains to be seen if iPhone 5 will also support Sprint’s CDMA network.
