In May, Dell revealed its Project Sputnik. The aim of this project was to develop a laptop for developers. According to the news, recently the Texas-based tech company has announced that its developer laptop will be launched in fall this year. The company also said through the press release that this developer laptop’s base will the Dell XPS 13, even the laptop will have pre-loaded Ubuntu 12.04LTS. Dell did not disclose price tag and other details.
The company promises that this laptop can deliver a complete client-to-cloud solution for developers which is approving to create microclouds on their laptops. Barton George, Project Sputnik Lead and Director of Web Vertical Marketing at Dell said, “Since we announced project Sputnik a little over two months ago, we have continued to be amazed by the amount and quality of interest and input we have received.” He also added, “By listening to developers, Dell can provide them with solutions and products to help make them more productive and allow for greater innovation.”
