Specs Leaked For New 13″ MacBook Pro, Indicates Ivy Bridge Processor But No Retina Display

A lot of analysts have been saying that Apple will probably take the event of WWDC 2012 as a chance to announce the new releases on its flagship line of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air devices. While there have been many rumors about each of the two, here is now a purportedly leaked bit of info that reveals the specs of the upcoming 13″ MacBook Pro.

Some analysts had earlier hoped that now that Apple has included a Retina display in the new iPad, it may finally go forth with the inclusion of Retina displays in upcoming MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models too. However, the latest ‘leak’ regarding the specs of the new MacBook Pro suggests that the new model isn’t getting a Retina display.

In a way, Retina display does sound a tad bit impractical for a MacBook Pro. At one side, it would greatly increase the battery constraints, forcing Apple to tweak the rest of the components accordingly. And at the other, it may add some weight to the machine, something which can be highly undesirable for prospective MacBook Pro buyers.

Other bits of revealed information show an Intel Ivy Bridge processor that would go into the machine together with USB 3.0. Moreover, the machine is said to have 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM and 500 GB 5400-rpm HDD. Also, to juice up the graphics of MacBook Pro, again Intel HD Graphics 4000 will be at hand.

All this is, naturally, still rumors and speculations. And we will know for sure when Apple finally decides to lift the wraps off the machines during WWDC 2012.
