Nokia Lumia 920 Arrives With PureView, Wireless Charging

Nokia finally unveiled two key flagship smartphones at its recent Windows Phone 8 event. While Lumia 820 is a more modest offering, Lumia 920 is being hailed as a true contender for the top-of-the-range smartphones. It comes with powerful hardware and some excellent features.

Nokia Lumia 920

The first thing you’d notice about the device is the stunning 4.5-inch 720p display. Nokia says that the display is Pure Motion HD+ and allows you to read from it without any problems even in direct sun.

The device is juiced up with a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and includes 1GB of RAM together with 32 GB of storage. The one feature of Lumia 920 that Nokia is touting as a game-changer is that it includes a PureView sensor.

The camera, in itself, is a rather modest 8.7-megapixel but when coupled with the PureView sensor, Nokia claims, it can deliver excellent results. In fact, the company has claimed that this is the best smartphone camera available in the market right now.

Apart from the PureView sensor, the camera’s performance is further improved with the ‘floating-lens’ stabilization technology which essentially reduces shaking, especially when shooting a video.

One of the most interesting features of Lumia 920 is that it comes with wireless charging. Nokia will soon debut a charging plate for the device whereas Fatboy has already unveiled a pillow on which you can place the device to wirelessly recharge it.

Another fact about the new Lumia device that may entice you is that it will run Windows Phone 8. So it is essentially the first device to tool Windows Phone 8, thus coupling that awesome software from Microsoft to go with this nifty piece of hardware.

Would you prefer Lumia 920 to Samsung Galaxy S III or the new iPhone that is soon expected? Let us know your thoughts.
