RIM Announces BlackBerry Q10, Comes With Physical Keyboard

After what seems like ages of waiting, RIM has finally lifted the wraps off its crop of BlackBerry 10 devices. At the launch event, the company showed off two BB10 devices that it will be making available soon. One of them, namely the Blackberry Q10, packs a physical keyboard which shouldn’t be a surprise at all.

BlackBerry Q10

RIM’s fondness for physical keyboards in its smartphones is rather well-known. However, the fact that in this age of virtual keyboards RIM has continued its commitment to physical keyboard is quite significant.

Q10 comes with an improved overall design, packing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM. It includes a 3.1-inch display and is obviously powered up by the BlackBerry 10, the much-touted platform that RIM has been working on for quite some time.

However, what is a tad bit fishy is that RIM didn’t announce any other details about the handset, except that it would be available by April this year. This seems to hint that the rest of the specifications of the smartphone may not be too extra-ordinary.

Nonetheless, BlackBerry 10 has shown promise over recent months, coming with a greatly improved user interface and a whole host of new features. So Q10, even with its physical keyboard, may have a chance of acquiring a sizable following.
