VoIP provider Vopium has launched an app for the Nokia’s flagship N8 phone, representing the first VoIP application for the Symbian ^3 Operating System. In addition to Symbian, Vopium is also available for the iOS and Android smartphone users.
The app provides free calls to other Vopium or Skype users over Wi-Fi and 3G data networks, as well as cut price calls to local landlines.
The Vopium technology is designed to always find the lowest rate for calls and text messages, even for international calls which are made via Vopium’s servers.
The app also users to chat on Facebook and Windows Live Messenger via its instant messaging feature.
New users can currently try the service out with 15 minutes of free calls.
Additionally, Vopium also comes with instant messaging capabilities, allowing users to keep up with their buddies on Facebook, Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ and Twitter.
