According to Xperia Blog, Sony will not update the Xperia-branded smartphones that released in 2011 to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. John Cooper, UK Product Manager for Sony Mobile, has been taking questions from customers on Facebook and confirmed via citing a number of Facebook replies that neither Xperia Arc S nor Xperia Mini Pro will receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.
Sony UK has confirmed that a couple Xperia handsets will not be receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Though Sony hasn’t made any official statement on their Jelly Bean upgrade plans, UK product manager John Cooper for Sony Mobile answered to some questions regarding Sony Mobile and the Xperia series. While replying some questions, Cooper stated that the Arc S and Mini Pro won’t be getting the latest version of Android.
Cooper also mentioned that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has been approved for the entire Xperia S line. But the company has no announcements regarding a Jelly Bean update. As Sony hasn’t confirmed anything regarding the update of Xperia devices, whether it would get Android 4.1 or not, we have to wait for the confirmation.
Stay tuned. We’ll let you people know.
