“Modbook Pro” Is The World’s Most Powerful And Largest-Screen Tablet Computer

The Modbook, developed by Los Angeles, California-based Axiotron, Inc. is a slate-style Tablet computer that was introduced in the 2007 at Macworld Conference and Expo. At Macworld 2009, Axiotron announced the it will bring upgraded version of Modbook – “Modbook Pro” which would be the world’s most powerful and largest-screen Tablet Computer. But since then, Axiotron got expired from the tech world. But now, one of its co-founders, Andreas Haas is bringing back that “Modbook Pro” from his new company – Modbook Inc. Andreas Haas announced that “the new Modbook Pro is the world’s most powerful and largest-screen tablet computer.”

Andreas Haas, who is a co-founder of the defunct Axiotron and founder of his LA-based new company Modbook Inc., announced on June 28 that the new Modbook Pro is “the world’s most powerful and largest-screen tablet computer.” Like the original ModBook, the Modbook Pro is based on a rebuilt Apple laptop. Be noted that the Modbook is based on the MacBook Pro 15 inch laptop. The Modbook Pro is powered by Mac OS X Mountain Lion, and controlled via a Wacom stylus. The Modbook Pro’s configurable base system includes a 2.5GHz dual core Intel® Core™ i5 processor or 2.9GHz dual core Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, a 2.5–inch SATA drive (up to 1TB HDD or up to 960GB SSD), an 8X SuperDrive® DVD burner, an Intel HD Graphics 4000 chipset, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity capability.

The display of Modbook Pro comes from Apple’s 13.3 inch (33.7 cm) MacBook Pro and features wide viewing angles and a resolution of 1280 x 800. Wacom’s ForceGlass touch panel can recognize 512 degrees of pressure. Modbook Inc. has promised that it’ll provide seven hours of back up on a full charge. There’s a built-in 63.5-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery. Besides, Modbook will also utilize a 60W MagSafe adapter. In addition, Modbook Pro features all the connections from a Mac OS X device, such as Ethernet, USB 3.0, and Thunderbolt. Modbook Inc. has also advertised Windows 7 support, though this is done entirely through Apple’s Boot Camp program, and is not pre-installed on the machine.

Its cost hasn’t been mentioned yet. The company says pricing will be announced in the coming weeks and systems are expected to ship in the early fall.
