Earlier this month at CES 2013, Sony unveiled its Xperia series flagship smartphone Xperia Z. But seems like Sony has not only Xperia series smartphone to unveil, but also Xperia series tablets to unveil. Sony announced on Monday (Jan 21) that it is going to bring a 10.1-inch Xperia series tablet named Xperia Tablet Z. The tablet is set to arrive in Japan this spring. Details inside.
The upcoming Xperia Tablet Z weighs 495 gram and its thickness is 6.9 mm. The tablet will run on Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and will feature a 10.1-inch LCD screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution using the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 for high-quality images, a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage (with an SD card slot), 8.1MP camera using an Exmor R CMOS sensor, S-Force Front Surround 3-D virtual sound technology, LTE connectivity, Near Field Communication (NFC) chip, 6,000 mAh battery. The best part of this upcoming tablet is it is waterproof and dustproof.
Sony will release the Xperia Tablet Z in Japan in the spring. Its pricing as well as availability hasn’t been mentioned. But it is expected that Sony will unveil this device with pricing and availability at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona, Spain.
