Avesta Group of Companies president Haji Ibrahim Nehramli who is an Azerbaijani businessman has announced that they are planning to build the world’s highest building on an artificial Khazar Island in the Caspian Sea off Garadag, southwest of Baku. Azerbaijan Tower will be the centerpiece of the Khazar Islands development. Its construction will start in 2016 and being hoped it will be finished within 2019.
At present, world’s current tallest building is Burj Khalifa. It is 2,717 ft (828 m) high and it was completed in 2010. On the other side, Saudi Arabia is planning to build a tower named Kingdom Tower in Jeddah which is 3,281 ft (1000 m) high. Definitely they are planning to build a tower which is higher than Burj Khalifa. But, Haji Ibrahim Nehramli’s statement has made a turbulence. He is planning to build world’s proposed tallest building ‘Azerbaijan Tower’ which will be 3,445 ft (1,050 m) in height.
The Azerbaijan Tower will comprise of 189 floors. It will be built in Khazar Islands. It will be the crowning centerpiece of the Khazar Islands which is a $100 billion city of 41 artificial islands that will spread 2,000 hectares over the Caspian. Approximate 1 million people will be able to stay on this island. This land will be comprised of 150 schools, 50 hospitals and daycare centers, numerous parks, shopping malls, cultural centers, university campuses. Surprisingly, there will be a Formula 1 Race-track also. To balance the network in the city, innovative bridges and infrastructure will be there. The city can resist a maximum of 9.0 rector scale quake. Overall, the city will be a perfect world to live in. The cost of this project is $2 Billion. Check out the video.
